Digipak Front Cover

Here is the front cover for my digipak:

To create my front cover, I followed my original inspiration of 'Meat Is Murder' by The Smiths, with a few tweaks. I duplicated the photo originally taken for my front cover 4 times, and only showed the quarter where the boy is sat down. Then, I flipped it both horizontally and verticaly so that they all are facing away from each other. I then placed a filter on it called 'Glowing Edges', to give it a more distinctive look.

Difficulties

At this current moment, I (as are most of the Media group) am having difficulties being able to upload my footage onto the computers with editing software. This has caused a setback, and I am unsure at this moment of when I will be able to upload and edit the film.

Half Term

During Half Term, I went away with this list of tasks to do:
  • Get my Digipak photos (front and back) taken
  • Complete my final piece of shooting my film
  • Complete the website
  • Go through my Blog thoroughly, and make sure that everything I have done to this point is on it.
I first went away and took the photos for my digipak. I decided that I would use a close up of a part of my face, the eyes. I took a few photos and once I had uploaded them onto my computer, I tried different filters and effects on them ,such as making them monochrome, sepia, photo-negative, as well as many others.

On the Tuesday and Wednesday of half term, I went off and did some filming. Firstly, I used an empty room in my house (with, importantly, white walls) and did various close up shots of me singing the song - taking various close up angles of parts of the face - the mouth, eyes, nose, ears. These will make up the basis of my video, and will be used during boht verses, and maybe in parts of the chorus. I also went and took some shots of empty streets for the short intro (before the singing starts).

I went on my website using webeden, and got the last one or two bits finished, but there was a problem which I am yet to solve - the preious background is still appearing behind my new background image, and is appearing round the edge of the site, making it look messy. I will get this fixed ASAP.

At the end of half term, I looked through my Blog, and noticed that the audience research results and some of my earlier shoots were yet to be posted. This has been corrected.

Slight Changes in Digipak Design

I am going to make an adjustment in my digpak's design - instead of the design being 16 different images (in the style of U2's Achtung Baby), I am going to instead just have 4 copies of the same image. A great example of this design is Meat Is Murder by The Smiths, as shown below.

A Song Change

After a couple of months and film shoots, I am seriously considering changing my song. I do not have anything against it, I have just had a feeling that what I am trying to film just does not fit with the song.

The song that I had been looking at changing it to was one of the songs originally in my shortlist, Come In Come Out by The La's.
